BNP Paribas IP forms alliance with Barrow Hanley
Wouter Klijn
BNP Paribas Investment Partners and global value equity specialist Barrow, Hanley, Mewhinney & Strauss have created a strategic alliance.
BNP Paribas IP will be the exclusive distributor of Barrow Hanley’s global equity strategy in Australia and New Zealand.
It is a traditional value portfolio concentrated in 50 to 70 stocks, with an investment process that focuses on bottom-up stock picking of companies with improving or stable operating fundamentals.
The firm was founded in 1979 in Dallas, Texas, and focuses on institutional investors.
“We are delighted to be partnering with BNP Paribas Investment Partners to expand the reach of our global value equity offering to Australian and New Zealand investors,” Barrow Hanley managing director Robert Barkley said.
“We trust in their proven capability as a strong distributor of international investment managers and we look forward to working in partnership with them to protect and grow the assets of Australian- and New Zealand-based investors in a manner that benefits all participants,” Barkley said.
BNP Paribas IP chief executive David Grybas said the alliance was formed after demand from clients for a global value equity manager.
“We conducted an extensive search to find a global value equity partner who we felt would provide compelling investment opportunities for our clients,” Grybas said.
“Barrow Hanley’s experienced and stable investment team, strong performance culture and disciplined value process convinced us they were a great choice.”
BNP Paribas IP represents several asset managers in Australia, including Arnhem Investment Management (Australian equities), Antin Infrastructure Partners (European infrastructure), Carnegie Asset Management (global growth equity), FFTW (fixed income), Hamilton Lane (private equity), Impax Asset Management (environmental and resource efficiency markets), Permal (hedge fund solutions) and its internal investment team, BNP Paribas Asset Management. – See more at: http://www.theinstoreport.com.au/articles/bnp-paribas-ip-forms-alliance-with-barrow-hanley#sthash.LBZow2Ta.dpuf
