Manager – Commodities Business Strategy & Sales

Location: Sydney

Salary description: $140k AUD base salary

  • $100-150k AUD Equivalent
  • Permanent
  • 3 to 7 years of experience

The primary objective of this role is to define and execute a marketing and sales plan to promote the products and services across the Agriculture and Metals commodities markets to achieve revenue growth targets.

This role will suit a candidate coming from working in sales / trading roles across Agricultural and/or Metals commodity markets looking to step into a sales and product development role with a strong emphasis on account and relationship management.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement a Commodities Strategic Business Plan
  • Define and execute a marketing and sales plan to promote new products and services in Agriculture and Metals and achieve revenue growth targets
  • Diversify the Commodities business through new products and services
  • Develop a customer relationship management programme for the Commodities business
  • Develop specific strategic relationships with key intermediaries, partners and customers
  • Develop a Commodities education/training programme for existing and prospective customers
  • Responsibility for the financial performance of Commodities products and services
  • Identify and develop new domestic and international business/sales opportunities
  • Raise awareness of the commodities business both domestically and internationally
  • Manage the Commodities sales pipeline and ensuring timely reporting to senior management
  • Represent the Commodities business at industry events
  • Engage with relevant Government/State/Industry bodies on the development of the Agriculture and Metals markets
  • Work closely with the Commodities Product Manager
  • Work closely with the Commodities Client Services Manager

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience in customer management within the commodities markets
  • 5+ years experience in the commodities markets with general knowledge of exchange traded products, their use, features, benefits and risks
  • Strong sales/influencing skills
  • Well established industry network (international and domestic)
  • Proven ability to deliver creative and flexible customer solutions
  • Appropriate tertiary qualification or similar relevant to the role or experience
