State Street has appointed a new head of global markets sales, trading and research, for the Asia-Pacific region.

Colin Zhong has been named as head of global markets sales, trading and research, for the Asia Pacific.

Mr Zhong will be responsible for developing and implementing the regional strategy for the sales and trading research business.

State Street head of global markets and global exchange, Asia Pacific, Ian Martin said: “Colin brings more than two decades of industry experience and has been a recognised leader in his field.

“We are confident he has the right experience to identify and address key issues impacting our clients across the region.”

Prior to joining State Street, Mr Zhong held senior positions at UBS and Deutsche.

State Street head of global markets sales, trading and research in Boston, Mark Snyder, said Mr Zhong brings considerable expertise to the role.

“We see extensive opportunities in Asia and Colin’s experience and knowledge of local markets will allow us to take advantage of the growth story and broaden our capabilities and client base throughout the region. He will also play a role as part of the global management team,” Mr Snyder said.
