AXA Investment Managers (AXA IM) has appointed Jim Veneau as head of credit Asia and Christy Lee as a portfolio manager within its Asian fixed income team. Both are based in Hong Kong and report to Rob Andrew, head of fixed income Asia.

Veneau joins AXA IM from HSBC GAM where he was most recently an Investment director in their Asian fixed income team responsible for managing both high yield and investment grade credit mandates as well as the team’s risk budgeting and analytics. Jim’s focus will be managing Asian fixed income credit portfolios and developing AXA IM’s Asian Fixed Income credit strategy.

Prior to joining AXA IM, Lee worked as an associate portfolio manager at UBS Asset Management in Hong Kong with portfolio management and research experience covering Asian high yield and investment grade credit. In her new role, she will be responsible for the development and execution of credit strategies with a focus on the pan-Asian credit market.

As part of AXA IM’s commitment to developing its presence in Asia, the firm moved its fixed income team from Singapore to Hong Kong in 2013 and hired Andrew to head the team. Mark Tinker moved from London to Hong Kong to become head of AXA Framlington Asia, with further grow planned for AXA IM’s fundamental equity expertise in the region. Singapore remains an important base for AXA IM’s real estate investment and quantitative equities business (AXA Rosenberg).
