Salary description: $90,000 - $100,000 base

  • $50-100k AUD Equivalent
  • Permanent
  • 3 to 7 years of experience

Our client is a leading global financial services firm seeking a Relationship Manager, at Associate level, working as part of the Global Client Management team.

As a Client Relationship Manager you will work as part of a global RM team in Sydney covering all business lines and services. This is a high quality Relationship Manager position where you will be working to foster important client relationships at a senior level.

The ideal candidate will have 4-7+ years of financial services experience with a particular client type or product (Banks, Asset Managers etc) and prior experience in Relationship Management, Client Services or Account Management. A background in sales or relationship management within FICC, treasury markets, corporate banking, securities lending, treasury markets, global markets or securities services would all be relevant.

The ideal level for this role would probably be a sharp applicant who is building their career, and currently at an Associate level or equivalent, with strong communication skills, a good educational profile and demonstrated ability to build client relationships.

The Associate’s responsibilities include:

  • Client management: Supporting specific client relationships in Australia, being up to speed on key industry developments and client moves, mapping the client’s business, identifying areas of opportunity to grow the relationship, conducting research and analyses on key themes and supporting day to day interaction with the client as well as preparing ‘top of house’ interactions.
  • Client projects: Managing specific client efforts with increasing independence, bringing together stakeholders from across the firm and/or the client, delivering concrete outcomes and output. Examples include supporting the completion of an RFQ or helping to roll out a new client offering.
  • Client strategy: Understanding the “bigger picture” for key client relationships and how they act as a strategic partner, helping client executives and management bring relationships to the next level. This requires understanding the client’s strategy and our own, supporting major client pushes and helping to drive high profile initiatives to fruition.
  • Client administration: Owning client processes such as account plan updates, sales planning, and revenue recognition, and tracking progress against sales objectives. Requirements needed to be considered:

  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required
  • Advanced/graduate degree preferred
  • Have a maximum of 4- 7 years of total work experience preferred
  • Financial Services experience with a particular client type or product (Banks, Asset Managers etc) preferred as is prior experience in Relationship Management, Client Services or Account Management within FICC, treasury markets, corporate banking, securities lending, treasury markets, global markets or securities services would all be relevant.
