


Our client is a leading issuer of exchange traded funds in the Australian market. The Capital Markets Analyst is expected to be an impactful contributor to the business, collaborating across the Product Management, Portfolio Management and Distribution teams. The role will involve supporting and growing “capital markets” relationships with key market makers, authorised participants and trading desks, supporting day to day trading of our products to ensure smoothly functioning primary and secondary markets, and acting as a source of product information servicing external and internal clients. The Capital Markets Analyst will have direct exposure to the firm’s existing ETFs across our Income, Thematic Growth, International Access, and Cryptocurrency suites.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to strategic Capital Markets relationships with market makers, authorised participants, and sales & trading desks.
- Monitor ETF spreads to ensure relevant market making obligations are being met and that secondary markets are operating effectively.
- Become the key contact for all execution-related client queries and the conduit between clients and primary liquidity providers.
- Develop client-facing Capital Markets collateral to promote the capabilities of the firm and provide education on the different ways of trading ETFs.
- Constantly monitor and analyse ETF industry news, third party research, market news and relevant company news and analysis and communicate this effectively across the team.
- Support ETF distribution efforts through the production of high-quality analysis and commentary on both a proactive and reverse enquiry basis.
Skills and Qualifications
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- 1-3 years of industry work experience preferred
- Excellent numeracy skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Practical knowledge of ETFs and general market structure
- Proven success in demonstrating quantitative, analytical and communication (written and verbal) skills
- Adept at synthesising and concisely communicating ideas to various audiences
