Due to the growth in our client’s portfolio, an exciting opportunity has come about for a Bank Guarantees Officer to join this leading global corporate bank on a permanent basis.
Experience within Bank Guarantees and/or corporate loans operations is required to be considered for this role.
The Guarantee Officer will play a vital role in managing Guarantees/SBLCs issuances, and making sure Guarantees/SBLCs are issued in accordance with Group policies, UCP Rules, Checklists and SOPs.
Responsibilities:
- Undertake responsibility for reviewing, drafting, and execution of Demand Guarantees, Ensure potential risks relating to guarantee wordings are either accepted by Legal/Business, or mitigated by revision, making sure all ambiguities and contradictions are addressed.
• Review Standby Letter of Credit applications and amendments to determine workability, accurately interpret and execute instructions while complying with bank’s policy.
• Minimise Operational incident by performing stringent control checks on non-standard or unusual issuance requests. Ensure guarantees are issued in accordance with Group policies, UCP Rules, Checklists and SOPs.
• Ensure guarantee commissions are booked accurately and collected within agreed time lines.
• Acknowledge and respond to enquiries from external clients and internal stakeholders promptly while demonstrating higher standards of client service.
• Identify Operational processing improvement opportunities; generate ideas and solutions that can be productive during day-to-day work handlings.
Required Experience:
- 5 + years’ relevant experience in similar Institutional Banking Operations role – Trade Finance, Bank Guarantee’s, Supply Chain Finance etc
• Proven track records working in an Operational area handling Bank guarantees
Technical Experience required:
• Demonstrated knowledge of Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees (URDG758) & ISP98, and how a guarantee should be structured.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Australian and global banking regulatory and compliance environments
• Experience of controls to manage Operational Risks
