Location: Sydney

Salary description: $100-130k equivalent on a daily rate.

This role sits within the Investment Banking / Corporate Advisory division and works alongside deal teams to provide industry and sector research relating to projects.

The team aims to be experts across sectors with the ability to lead idea generation and to be at the forefront of information, news or reports released on our clients or related industries. The ability to recognise trends and develop in-depth knowledge of an industry enables the team to be ahead of the curve for future deal potential.

Investment Banking heavily relies on providing clients with sector / industry and market knowledge to provide the best advice to its clients.

This team is accountable for providing this content and expertise. The team covers a range of industry sectors including Natural Resources, Technology, Media & Telecommunications, Financial Institutions, Healthcare, Consumer Retail and Real Estate (sector specific knowledge is beneficial but is not a requirement).

The successful candidate will come on board as an Analyst or Associate initially on a 12-month contract with the view to go permanent.

He or she will work closely with investment bankers in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Auckland and Managers in hub locations across Asia, London and New York. The position is a rewarding experience – one that provides an excellent foundation for individuals interested in research and building their industry knowledge.


  • The candidate will have 2-5 years’ experience from a research analyst or Big 4 Valuations / Transactions advisory and have strong knowledge of the finance industry and markets and display a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong academic background in a relevant course (banking, finance, or economics) and CFA would be ideal.
  • Experience with Excel, PowerPoint and market data providers such as Thomson, Bloomberg, Dealogic, CapIQ,  S&P, Credit Rating Agencies, etc would be best suited.
  • Any experience with streamlining processes using macros or other proprietary databases to improve efficiencies would be highly regarded.
