Our client is a leading vendor in the investment management space. They are seeking a junior-level Scrum Master to help offer internal support for a project management team. Ideally you will have Agile project experience, with knowledge of JIRA, Kanban and SDLC process.
The Scrum Master (SM) role is to perform the servant leadership role of either single or multiple squads. With a primary focus on delivery whilst working with the Product Owner (PO) and the squad to ensure high quality delivery and efficiency is achieved. The SM is responsible for coordinating delivery in the squads. SM ensures all the Scrum ceremonies are performed on a regular cadence and makes sure the team is shielded from diversions and are supported through unblocking any impediments on their way.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shields the team from distractions to enable them to deliver
- Collaborate with PO and squad to get the squads backlog groomed and sized.
- Assist the team to remove blockers to meet sprint goals
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies
- Work closely with the PO to understand why we are building the product and the priorities.
- Share tales of experience with other potential Scrum Masters via the Agile Community Practice
- Apply pragmatic approach to delivery that makes sense to the squad/tribe
- Support the implementation led to define a future release process, including streamline governance approvals, identify ways to automate manual release processes
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Knowledge of agile delivery (Scrum)
- Multiple agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)
- Experience within Financial Services desirable
- Good understanding and demonstrated experience in the entire SDLC (software development lifecycle) with end-to-end delivery
- Strong Knowledge and experience with Agile delivery: Authoring and splitting User Stories.
- Agile development principles including behaviour-driven development (BDD), test-driven development (TDD), Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Peer Reviews
- Proven and demonstrated agile delivery experience as Scrum Master
- Experience achieving results through distributed teams
- Knowledge of waterfall delivery framework/approach
- Risks & Issues Management
This is an exceptional opportunity for a junior-level Scrum Master to work for our client in Sydney, on an initial temporary contract, likely to be an initial 6-month duration. The candidate will be paid on a daily rate of circa $500pd + super.
