Permanent Our client is a specialist Chartered Accounting and Business Advisory firm seeking a new Manager of their Business Services / Advisory Accounting team based in Melbourne. This role is a Permanent, full-time role with hybrid work, leading a team, managing a portfolio of clients, and providing strategic business and wealth advisory.
About the Role:
As a Manager, you will provide leadership to a small team while managing a portfolio of clients. You’ll deliver client-focused solutions, advise on business planning, tax, structuring, compliance, profit improvement, and wealth planning, and work closely with senior leadership on complex matters. This role suits an experienced accountant who enjoys mentoring staff and contributing to the success of the wider team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a small team, supporting their technical development and career progression
- Manage a portfolio of business owner clients, delivering high-quality, client-focused outcomes
- Provide quality assurance across work delivered, ensuring technical and commercial excellence
- Advise on business planning, tax and business structuring, compliance, profit improvement, benchmarking, and wealth planning initiatives
- Take a commercial, solutions-focused approach to complex client matters
- Actively participate in firm-wide working groups and collaborative forums
Key Skills / Knowledge:
- Strong technical accounting and tax knowledge
- Commercial mindset with strategic advisory capability
- Proven people management and leadership experience
- Strong client relationship management skills
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or related field
- CA or CPA qualified
- 6+ years’ accounting experience with people management background
- Experience advising business owners across compliance and consulting services
