Salary description: AUD $170k - $200k + super and bonus

  • $150-200k AUD Equivalent

Our client is a leading ASX-listed Fintech firm that works in support of AFSL’s stockbrokers, advisers and other wealth management firms with digitising and automation of operational and compliance processes.

They are rapidly expanding and have many internal projects on; as such they’re seeking an additional Project Manager – ideally with an understanding and experience in the wealth management or stockbroking industry. The PM will work with their clients, as well as client services and internal development and project teams, to identify and document functional requirements, and work on multiple projects across system enhancements, client onboarding and workflow improvements to their technology modules and operations.

The PM will be running multiple project streams with support from their business analysts and project coordinators.

Ideal candidates will have Project Management and prior Senior BA skills, and ideally some knowledge and experience from within the Australian wealth management or stockbroking sector


  • Select appropriate best practice project approaches e.g. lifecycle, tools, processes, and structure, to achieve the project objectives.
  • Ensure scope is managed and changes are assessed and agreed to by project stakeholders (in terms of functionality, quality, cost and timescales; and that funding is agreed before accepting any change).
  • Build and manage internal and external senior stakeholder relationships based on shared understanding and mutual agreements.
  • Manage project risks and scenarios to ensure progress is unaffected by unexpected events.
  • Facilitate communications between stakeholders and conduct regular project reporting to ensure the project is well understood and supported by all who could influence its outcome.
  • Lead project implementation team to ensure deliverables are executed and accountabilities are held according to plan and timelines.
  • Analysis to identify and specify the required enhancements to the modules, preparation of requirements statements, functional specification (desirable but not mandatory)
  • Workflow Design – Analysis, design and documentation across the full range of business operational processes to meet customer needs
  • Facilitation  – host workshops (with internal and/or external stakeholders) to build out, capture and validate requirements
  • Operational Procedures – Documentation of targeted end-to-end business operational processes
  • Project Coordination – close liaison and coordination with the broader team and third parties to identify priority, define and meet project objectives

Essential skills

  • Project Management and prior business analysis experience within a financial services / Wealth Management or stockbroking organisation
  • Have a high degree of initiative and self-motivation as part of a small team
  • Be both a team player and have the ability to work autonomously
  • Experience leading projects through the entire workflow.
  • Ability to manage high-pressure client situations and build trust with clients with strong judgement, risk & issue management, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to synthesise and communicate complex technical product and business issues.
  • Self-starter who is able to manage multiple priorities to deliver results with outstanding time management skills and attention to detail.
  • Track record in managing projects and implementations, ensuring consistent and successful delivery.
  • Ability to work at an executive level across multiple clients (both internal and external).
  • Extensive business analysis experience, capturing As-Is and To-Be, identifying system, UI and operational enhancements
  • Diligent in reviewing detail and comparing data capture to requirements
  • Flexibility to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Extensive hands-on experience with MS apps, including Visio, Excel, Word, PowerPoint Project, SharePoint and Teams
  • Good attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Working within agile and waterfall projects;

Salary will be dependent on experience and background and will include an annual bonus and an employee share plan scheme.
