


Our client is a revered, global financial services firm seeking a Risk & Compliance Subject Matter Expert in their Sydney office.
In this role to work as part of a risk & compliance project team to support the delivery of a range of regulatory change projects. This position is initially offered on a 9-month contract duration.
Reporting to the Asset Servicing APAC Entity Head of Controls, you will act as an interface with the Asset Servicing Global Control Risk & Resiliency Office, helping to ensure that the global operational control frameworks are delivered at an entity level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support entity level controls testing execution including walkthroughs, design, and operating effectiveness testing.
- Perform quality review over testing workpapers (produced by other testers) to ensure execution and documentation meet First Line of Defense Control Testing Methodology and testing quality expectations.
- Participate in control projects, to implement enhanced controls and efficiency enhancements.
- Provide support in executing and monitoring of key programs such as the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA); Audit Remediation, Operational Resiliency, Incident Management, information security and Reg Change etc.
- Ensure proper preventative and detective controls are in place and drive recommendations to strengthen control weaknesses.
- Assist with operational and/or corporate risk & control initiatives where directed.
- Assist with first line reporting for various legal entity governance committees.
- Supports effective management information (MI) that enables business leaders to oversee the risk environment within their businesses
- Stay up-to- date with industry changes that may impact the risk & quality of our services.
Required Experience/Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in operational risk and compliance within Australia’s financial services industry or APRA/ASIC-regulated entities.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Law, Finance, Risk, or related fields.
- Ability to systematically assess & challenge existing processes in a structured way; this is demonstrated by knowledge of risk management techniques & awareness of control activities.

- You must hold an Australian PR or be an Australian Citizen to be considered for this role.
