Salary description: AUD $80K – $100K base salary, depending on experience

  • $50-100k AUD Equivalent

Our client is a large global investment manager seeking to hire a Senior Desktop Support Analyst to their Sydney team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is newly created to support the headcount growth the Sydney office has experienced in the past 12 months.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of Desktop Support for the Sydney office, remote support for other offices, as needed, and is one of the primary contacts for the business users for technical issues, production problems, and inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setup, configure, install and troubleshoot desktop hardware and software ensuring full compliance with corporate guidelines and standards.
  • Provide support including training, mentoring, acting as subject matter expert for certain software groups, answers questions, along with representing the group in large multi-divisional projects.
  • Manages significant break/fix situations and installations of software upgrades as projects on the software that they are assigned. Identifies the issue, creates project plan and timelines, performs tasks and measures results according to plan.
    ▪ Local contact for Global IT teams to remove, install or replace server or other hardware as instructed. You will be the on-the-ground support for troubleshooting when needed.

Key Attributes:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with Desktop Support.
  • High-level understanding of the SCCM environment.
  • High-level understanding of Packaging languages: Install Shield and Wise Packaging tools and a high-level understanding of MSI packages.
  • Strong technical skills including a good understanding of multiple scripting languages: PowerShell, Perl, KIX and DOS Batch files.
  • Proficiency in the Chinese language (Highly Beneficial).
  • Previous experience with Microsoft SMS/SCCM environment.
