


Our client, a prominent asset management firm based in Melbourne, is seeking an experienced Senior Investment Data Business Analyst with a strong background in funds management and investment data analysis for an initial 9-month contract. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in fund management performance and attribution, along with the ability to provide business and technical analysis, research, information collation, and documentation.
This role requires strong data analysis skills, particularly in handling large datasets within an asset management environment.
The position is based in the Melbourne office, working closely with the broader P&A team and the Investment Data Management team to ensure requirements and solutions are thoroughly analysed, documented, and tested to meet business needs.
Responsibilities
- The Senior Investment Data Business Analyst is responsible for the business and technical analysis they will draw on domain expertise in investment performance measurement and ex-post reporting and analytics in performance analysis. As a skilled analytical professional who will support the organisation by executing creation of test strategy, and ensuring the test plan is aligned to the overall test strategy and regular monitoring.
- This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with the Manager, P&A, and the broader P&A team—including the Investment Data Management team to deliver precise performance measurement and insightful analysis, driving investment decision-making and enhancing our investment outcomes.
- Successful candidates demonstrate the ability to understand complex requirements to define and execute business and testing activities as well as ability to work collaboratively with the team, and internal/external service providers.

Qualifications / Experience:
- Extensive experience in funds management performance & analytics across all investment sectors coupled with data analyse and business analysis / projects experience required.
- Tertiary qualification in finance, economics, business, IT related, quantitative disciplines.
- Experience extracting data from excel, Microsoft access, SQL Database, Python.
- In-depth knowledge of the software delivery lifecycle with demonstrated experience across test planning, user acceptance testing and quality assurance, in an agile and continuous delivery environment.
- Demonstrated ability as a pro-active team player, with tasks and issues assigned followed through to completion.
