The Senior Manager plays a strategic and critical role within the Operations Division covering cross product settlements, corporate actions and client services teams.

This role has overall responsibility for the operation, cost, output and service delivery of the team. It oversees a large team including the focused development of 3 direct reports managing a team of 25. The Senior Manager will establish and lead a dynamic team to respond to changing business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
The role is responsible for leadership and full accountability for the following:
• Contributory leadership participation with the Management Team
• Active participation in senior client and relationship management meetings
• Operational leadership of change incorporating client requirements
• Full service delivery in line with the SLA
• Business Implementation – including on boarding of new clients, restructures, product development
• Costing and budget management for the function
• Area profitability including management of SLA compliance cost vs. ad hoc query cost considerations
• Strategic resourcing including growth and succession planning, area morale, staff satisfaction and retention
• Supporting the overall service delivery of the Operations Division via cross-team co-operation/communication

Strategic Leadership:
• Cost management, rationalisation and improvement
• Analysis, innovation, development and implementation of change and process improvement
• Development of the team including growing the area’s technical depth and capability in product, process and service delivery
• Maintain and monitor the Risk Control Framework for the services provided to client, including formal supervision and working closely with Risk and Compliance and Business Controllers, identifying potential risks and developing controls to mitigate them
• Influencing the desired culture of flexibility, accountability and openness to change
• Timely performance management of the team including goal setting, direction and development of individuals
• Identification and retention of high potential resources and succession planning

Ideal Qualifications & Experience required:
• 15 years+ experience within the financial services industry-Direct Australian and New Zealand market experience in Custody and Treasury operations.
• Proven track record within settlement and corporate actions
• Proven change management and process improvement capability
• Strong people leadership and management capability
• Competent strategic thinker with the ability to create and implement solutions
• Ability to foster and maintain strong interpersonal relationships both internally and externally
