The Senior Quant Developer applies financial technology to the development of investment solutions, which continue to enhance the efficient management of a large global portfolio. This role sits in a high performing team which plays a central role in materially upgrading investment data and analytics capability. It will combine strong theoretical and practical understanding of investment management across a range of asset classes with strong communication/consultation skills, to discern which solutions (analytics, systems and processes) are most fit-for-purpose for our client’s Investment Teams.

This will be hired on an initial 12-month contract with view to go permanent.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Work closely with investment teams to understand their needs from a data and analytics perspective, then translate the requirements into discrete units of work.
  • Contribute to the design and development of the team’s technological tools which support the development of business solutions.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the workflow, investment process, and key challenges within investment teams, to enable more meaningful and context-driven collaboration.

A successful candidate will:

  • Be degree qualified in numerical field
  • Have strong interpersonal, communication and consultation skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders
  • Be a highly quantitative individual with demonstrated development experience.
  • Python experience highly regarded, particularly with deep understanding of common scientific libraries, in an investment management context.
  • Have experience with commonly used 3rd party financial software vendors
