Equity Research Analyst – Small Cap Industrials focus

You will be working for one of Australia’s leading Institutional Equity businesses. This is a newly created role to add to the firm’s already impressive small cap research offering.

You’ll be responsible for maintaining all stock and industry models, writing research, dealing with corporate relationships and interacting with internal and external clients. The environment is challenging and demanding, but exciting and dynamic in one of Australia’s leading sell side equities and research business.

Including:

  • maintain an in-depth knowledge of key companies and their sectors
  • prepare research analysis reports and advise on investment ideas as well as write thematic sector pieces
  • develop and maintain regular communication with company management teams, clients and our internal sales teams
  • engage in financial modelling, forecasting and financial statement analysis
  • participate in client marketing activities

Your experience and skills

  • Over 4 years’ experience in Equity Research in the Industrials sector, ideally Small / Mid Caps
  • Proven ability to critically review and analyse industry data
  • Highly analytical, organised and able to multitask under tight time frames
  • An excellent communicator, able to present recommendations and investment decisions persuasively
  • Competent in financial modelling, investment research, analysis and evaluation
  • Possessing industry experience in Small Cap Industrials including: aerospace and defence, industrial machinery, tools, lumber production, construction, waste management, manufactured housing, cement and metal fabrication.

Senior Corporate Actions Officer – 12 month contract

This exciting new senior role is with a leading global funds management business in their Corporate Actions team on an initial 12-month contract.

This position will help research and process all domestic and APAC corporate actions. The successful applicant will also need to process and monitor all client instructions to market, reconcile all local entitlements to market and assist with account setups for proxy voting.

Responsibilities:

  • As the Corporate Actions Analyst you will be well versed in the handling and processing of routine transactions; balancing and reconciling of positions related to mergers, conversions, and redemptions.
  • You will serve as a key subject matter expert within the corporate actions team, dealing with more complex issues whilst providing day-to-day support, coaching and guidance to Corporate Action analysts.
  • Responsible for processing all forms of Voluntary and Mandatory corporate events and balancing and reconciliations related to Rights issues, Tenders and other complex offers.
  • Client and Investment Manager query management.
  • Ensures day to day deliverables are met. Checklists are to be prepared and submitted to the next level on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for identifying and resolving problems within established guidelines.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a corporate actions environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience in the Australian / APAC Market for Corporate Actions

Senior Trust Analyst

Our client is an independent corporate trustee seeking a Senior Trust Analyst to join their Sydney team.

This role would suit someone with 4+ years’ of  relevant experience in financial services with a desire to become a skilled specialist at the management of complex financial structures. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Full responsibility for managing as assigned portfolio of trusts
  • Manage trust funding draw down processes
  • Manage trust month end processes
  • Run cash flow distribution waterfall calculations
  • Financial model maintenance and development

Skills and Experience required:

Senior Performance Analyst – initial 12-month contract

A well-respected and rapidly expanding fund manager is looking for an enthusiastic candidate to join their performance analysis team on a 12-month contract initially.

They specialise in providing investment solutions for institutional investors in all major asset classes, including cash, domestic and international fixed interest, currency, Australian and international equities, listed property and private equity.

This role is responsible for multi asset investment performance analysis, commentary and conclusion support to the front office investment management process. The primary purpose of this role is to:

  • Co-ordinate delivery of performance analysis and attribution at security and portfolio levels. Analysis will include attribution, market / competitor and quant projects.
  • Co-ordinate delivery of internal and external reporting and respond to queries relating to investment performance
  • Deliver multi currency, security and portfolio level attribution analysis and reporting – including detailed analysis identifying incremental return differences between the portfolio and a benchmark, detailed information on asset mix, portfolio characteristics, risk, impact of turnover, market value and market capitalisation
  • Timely and accurate reporting, analysis, conclusions and commentary on investments
  • Liaise and interact with Portfolio Managers, Client Managers, Client Services and external parties such as performance consultants and research houses to provide high quality solutions to clients
  • Contribute to the development of efficiencies and improvements to the Performance Analytics and Investment Control functions, processes and procedures.
  • Work closely with team members across the Performance Analytics and Investment Control functions to ensure optimum output.
  • Provide support in establishing and fostering a culture of team spirit, co-operation and continuous self development. Assist in the development and ongoing training of team members in fixed interest performance analytics

You will have over 4 years of experience in the funds management Performance Analytics experience. You will have a solid understanding of equity and fixed interest products and attribution analysis. CFA or equivalent further education will be held highly. You will also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Specific experience in calculating multi-currency security level fixed interest attribution and leading practice methodologies and techniques used in such analysis.
  • Experience in management of key investment management operations, functions and processes.
  • Good knowledge of the Australian & International funds management industry, including industry issues, trends, investment products and processes.
  • Good knowledge of securities both domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to work across functional business teams to influence change strategies and drive implementation of business improvements.

Our client is a leading global fund administrator seeking candidates with strong Fund Financial Reporting backgrounds to join their team.

This is a senior role in the team responsible for reviewing/checking the work. Operationally the role with focus on reviewing the following areas of work:

• Client reporting

• APRA and other regulatory reporting

• Financial statements preparation and review

• Reconciliations

• Client and auditor management

• Resolution of client issues and ad hoc queries

To be successful in your application you will have a CA/CPA qualification (or part-qualified) and 5+ years in Fund Financial / Statutory Reporting with prior reviewing experience.

Client Services & Reporting Support Analyst – 12-month contract

Our client is a leading global fund services business seeking a Client Reporting Analyst on a 12-month contract to provide support services to the client service and Relationship Management team.

The purpose of the position is to support the business in the achievement of its business objectives by providing support services to the Client Services and Relationship Management teams who are responsible for the leadership of overall client and business interaction and ownership of all key client relationships.

Thus role has responsibility for provision of client support across the CSM and RM teams and all clients. Support will be primarily in the form of fixed periodic tasks, project work for the team and technical assistance on key ‘business as usual’ functions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Management of production of client KPI reporting  – Generation of report cards on a monthly / quarterly basis (depending on client requirements) using MS Power Point and MS Excel (VBA / Macros & formulas) whilst adhering to agreed client SLA delivery timeframes
  • Client communication and compliance/ risk tasks- Maintenance of Governance Framework, Maintenance of compliance and risk frameworks for the Client Development Team and ensure close out of any Compliance or Risk remediation items
  • MIS reporting /  SLA delivery reports
  • Project Management

The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role such as in client support, MIS Reporting, project works, collation of KPI & statistical data and have intermediate MS Excel (VBA & Macros preferable) experience.
