Our client is seeking multiple Fund Accountants and Senior Fund Accountants to join their team in Sydney to assist over Year End period. Starting in February for 5 or 6 months.

Fund Accountants verify and review the work of the Fund Accountants and offshore processing teams who prepare and produce accurate and quality reporting in line with SLA targets.  Specifically the generation of:

•    Regulatory reporting

•    Unit pricing reports

•    Resolution of client  and or interdepartmental issues and ad hoc queries

Investment Operations Manager

Our client is a prominent global investment manager with a substantial AUM, seeking to hire an Investment Operations Manager. This interim Investment Operations Manager will be responsible for a range of operations and related activities supporting the Front Office.

The role will be responsible for BAU oversight of the Middle Office services and will be required to monitor and review business processes on a periodic basis. Additionally, the role is the Regional Oversight Lead for Australia and will be responsible for coordination and delivery of vendor oversight. This is an important middle office and investment operations leadership position to help manage various investment trade support functions, as well as close interaction with the external custodian.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee Global Reconciliations and Trade Support processes conducted In-House and via the external custodian, while managing the effective process delivery and coordination of issue resolution management
  • Oversee Regional Trade Support including trade execution and capture, trade matching and settlement
  • Support dealing and investment teams with operational queries pertaining to trade support, reconciliations, portfolio positions and cash balances
  • Oversee ASIC reporting processes conducted by the external custodian
  • Provide day-today management oversight of Investment Operations team

Asset Management – Compliance Senior Associate – 6-month initial contract

Our client is a leading global asset manager seeking a Compliance Associate with 3+ years’ experience to join their Sydney team for an initial 6-month contract.

This is a great opportunity for a compliance associate to step into a junior Compliance Manager level role.

Key responsibilities:

  • To represent the Compliance function in the business’ Management Committee and other business and operational committees. To ensure that appropriate Compliance oversight arrangements are in place.
  • To act as an escalation and decision making point (within scope of expertise) for material Compliance topics impacting the business. To report all material Compliance issues, progress and resolution as needed.
  • To monitor the quality and completeness of implementation of the Group Compliance framework for the business, liaising where necessary with the relevant Compliance domain leaders.  Maintain an annual Compliance Action Plan defining clearly the Control plans and coverage for all Compliance domains – Financial Security, Market integrity, Professional Ethics and Client Interest Protection. To actively monitor the status of Compliance controls, gaps and actions required for closure, ensuring the role of Compliance as a second level controller.
  • Actively ensure new regulatory trends and requirements are identified and addressed. Perform ongoing assessment of company activities to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements.
  • To ensure all staff are aware and appropriately trained on the Compliance expectations of the local regulator and the business. To help develop a strong compliance culture within the entity, with a focus on Professional Ethics and Client Interest Protection.
  • To manage and maintain the relationship with ASIC and other regulators, representing the function in relevant industry forums.

Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • At least 3 years’ asset management compliance experience
  • University graduate with a major in business, or a related discipline

  • General knowledge or capacity to acquire knowledge of regulatory requirements of anti-money laundering and combating terrorist financing
  • General knowledge or capacity to acquire knowledge of control concept as well as compliance rules and regulations

Senior KYC officer – Institutional Clients – 6-month contract

A leading global bank is seeking a KYC remediation project analyst to join their client KYC / Due Diligence team on a 6-month contract.

This role has responsibility for provision of client support across Client Development and all clients by generation of regular reporting to clients with KPI data provided from multiple Operational teams, adherence to risk and control frameworks including AML/KYC.

Responsibilities:

AML/KYC 

  • Management of central records of client KYC information
  • Co-ordination and management of day-to-day client periodic KYC reviews and new client on-boarding

Production of Client Reporting

  • Collation of KPI & Statistical data from across the businesses Operations to incorporate into regular client specific report cards as they relate to the client SLA’s.
  • Generation of report cards on a monthly / quarterly basis (depending on client requirements) using MS Power Point and MS Excel (VBA / Macros & formulas) whilst adhering to agreed client SLA delivery timeframes
  • Performing first level quality control over data and commentary provided by Operations prior to delivery to Client Service Managers

Candidates will need:

  • Prior Institutional KYC/AML experience
  • Strong Excel skills ( V-Lookup, Pivot Tables etc)
  • VBA an advantage

You will be working for one of Australia’s leading Institutional Equity businesses. This is a newly created role to add to the firm’s already impressive small cap research offering.

You’ll be responsible for maintaining all stock and industry models, writing research, dealing with corporate relationships and interacting with internal and external clients. The environment is challenging and demanding, but exciting and dynamic in one of Australia’s leading sell side equities and research business.

Including:

  • maintain an in-depth knowledge of key companies and their sectors
  • prepare research analysis reports and advise on investment ideas as well as write thematic sector pieces
  • develop and maintain regular communication with company management teams, clients and our internal sales teams
  • engage in financial modelling, forecasting and financial statement analysis
  • participate in client marketing activities

Your experience and skills

  • Over 4 years’ experience in Equity Research in the Industrials sector, ideally Small / Mid Caps

  • Highly analytical, organised and able to multitask under tight time frames
  • An excellent communicator, able to present recommendations and investment decisions persuasively
  • Competent in financial modelling, investment research, analysis and evaluation

Position Overview:

The primary function of the Investment Operations Team Leader is to:

  • Work with the Investment Operations team, focusing on the implementation and administration of the investment strategy, in accordance with the Board’s investment philosophies and principles
