Senior Funds Middle Office – 6 month contract

Our client is a leading funds management business. Within their fund services team, they are seeking a senior candidate with equities and fixed income trade matching to join their team on an initial 6 month contract with a view for extension.

The successful applicant will ideally have experience using the OMGEO CTM system for trade matching and at least 4 years experience across Fixed Income, FX and Equities. Also as this role is very client focused, you must have impeccable communication skills, both written and verbal.

As part of the middle office team, the primary responsibilities will be to ensure the matching, trade management and reporting of fixed income transactions. This matching is time sensitive and involves dealing with Australian and international markets.

Responsibilities

  • Matching and follow up of all fixed income transactions
  • Meeting internal & market deadlines
  • Providing a timely response to client queries (i.e. client, custodian & other external and internal business units) via email and phone
  • Team leading responsibilities
  • Ensuring all KPIs, check lists and other controls and checks are performed and signed-off as required each day
  • Remain client focused at all times, identify issues, process improvements and areas of changes as well as drive improvements through to implementation
  • Ensuring operational risk guidelines are adhered to
  • Dealing with ad hoc issues or requests

To be successful in this role you will need to come from a middle office / trade support background with a strong client service ethic as there will be frequent communication with Brokers, Investment Managers and Operations.

Requirements

  • Degree education – preferable commerce and finance
  • In-depth knowledge of the fixed income, equities markets and associated asset classes
  • Previous Fixed Income experience
  • Knowledge of the International markets
  • Strong knowledge of Swift, the various Swift messages and there purpose
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to build and retain strong effective working relationships remotely or face-to-face

Stockbroking Team Assistant

Our client is a Tier 1 Global Stockbroking firm, seeking a team assistant to support a very successful team of Private Client Advisers. This role will be very client focused so impeccable communication and presentation skills are required.

The role will develop over a year or so into being a direct adviser support as a desk assistant. Training and development will be provided and they will be putting a preference on strong education backgrounds (Bachelor degree as a minimum)

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls from HNW clients in a cordial, professional and timely manner.
  • Organise Branch meetings, functions and social events.
  • Diary management.
  • Oversee couriers and mail.
  • Process Branch invoices.
  • Assist with the preparation of client presentations.
  • Manage of internal phone lists/documents.
  • Provide administrative support as directed.
  • Cooperate with Branch cross-training requirements as directed.

The role will then develop into a full Desk Assistant role with responsibilities such as;

  • Distribute new account documents and required notifications to clients and review new account forms for accuracy and completeness, including input of client banking details.
  • Assign account numbers and provide Advisers with completed new account forms after management approval.
  • Arrange and assist with CHESS and sponsorship, off-market, broker to broker and issuer to CHESS transfer of client documents.
  • Authorise access and respond to client queries re Website.
  • Coordinate Initial Public Offering allocations and applicable client documentation.
  • Liaise with back office and share registries regarding client and FA enquiries
  • Coordinate client seminars, conferences and presentations.
  • Maintain account files and undertake regular follow-up on missing documents.
  • Process and monitor stock settlements, including follow up with clients re outstanding funds.

Custody Client Support

Our client is a leading global custodian. They are seeking a well spoken, client oriented candidate to join their team which is focussed on providing exceptional support to their Investment Manager clients.

Responsibilities

  • This role has overall responsibility for the management of a portfolio of Investment Manager relationships and the subsequent service delivery to those managers. They will be part of a team of 8 staff and part of a larger client service unit responsible for dealing with queries from the IM clients via phone and email
  • They are responsible for building relationships with all of its managers and are the point of contact between the Investment Manager and all internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • This team is very high paced and candidates with strong prioritisation, escalation and time management skills will succeed!
  • The ideal candidate will have 5 + years experience within a custodian or investment management environment, with a strong focus on settlements (Fixed Income, Equities)

Senior Fund Performance Analyst – 12 month contract

Global funds business seeking a 12 month contractor to join their performance team. The focus for this position is finding an applicant with a strong understanding of performance. The performance reporting is much more complex, and requires an applicant with a good understanding of benchmark measurement and monitoring.

Any experience especially in fixed income performance analysis would be held in high regard, as this is typically more complex that equity performance analysis.

The ideal applicant will have several years of fund performance experience. Naturally experience in compliance mandate monitoring would also be ideal, although performance experience will be held in preference.

Strong Excel skills are usually expected for performance positions, and generally a high level of numeracy.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining high standards of attention to detail by checking and verifying reports prepared by Performance Analysts prior to delivery to the client.
  • Be pro-active in ensuring performance reports remain relevant to the client’s information needs.
  • Use your investment and performance knowledge to provide direction, guidance and training to the Performance Analysts.
  • Take a lead role in communication with clients, fund managers, asset consultants and other stakeholders so that client service is always of a high standard and
  • Contribute to the maintenance of high standards of communication and professionalism across the Performance team.

Requirements

  • You will be a motivated and proven professional with a degree in commerce, business or finance
  • You will have 4-5 years of experience in the wealth management industry, with at least 2-3 years Performance Analytics experience
  • You will have a solid understanding of fixed interest products and fixed interest attribution.
  • You will also be able to demonstrate the following:
  • Specific experience in calculating multi-currency security level fixed interest attribution and leading practice methodologies and techniques used in such analysis.
  • Experience in management of key investment management operations, functions and processes.
  • Good knowledge of the Australian & International funds management industry, including industry issues, trends, investment products and processes.
  • Good knowledge of securities both domestically and internationally.

Asset Management Operations & Client Services

Our client is a top tier investment manager, seeking a mid-level operations and client services applicant to join their Sydney team. This position is somewhat like a combined role of operations and client services – so they ideally need quite a broad operations/ middle office person. The role will suit somebody who is keen on both the operational and client services aspect of the role.

The position would be well suited for an experienced asset management operations candidate with a background in fund accounting, who has a few years within either custody or asset management operations. The applicant will also have client services experience and be a strong communicator able to interact with a wide range of people.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining relationships with back office, fund administrators and custodians
  • Calculation of unit prices
  • Reconciliation of underlying investments between administrator/custodian and investment managers
