We are a leading financial services recruitment consulting firm, and we work with many of the largest Investment Banks, Asset Managers, Private Wealth Managers and Trading firms. This is a unique opportunity to work for a leading financial services consulting firm as a graduate with a view to step up into a sales capacity within 12-18 months.

We run a small profitable team and we are looking to grow our Sydney team on the back of a strong pipeline of work coming in over the next 6-18 months.

Ideally you will be articulate, confident and eager to work in an HR/recruitment related position where you can be rewarded based on hard-work and your capacity to generate revenue for our business. You will ideally be a recent graduate and we will consider applicants with 0-3yrs of post-graduate experience within financial markets, clients services or sales.

Prerequisites: 

• University educated, or close to completion. We are interested in applicants who come from a notable high school background, who has part or fully completed university education. We would be interested in applicants with a diverse education background for example, B.Ag.Ec. or B.Arts or across a range of diverse university disciplines – so applicants with minimal or no financial services knowledge will also be considered
• Some prior understanding of financial markets, and ideally previous financial services work experience across our 3 coverage areas of Investment Banking, Asset Management and Wealth Management would be held in high regard
• Strong sales, client services and business development skills – or capacity to learn these skills
• Strong communication skills with an ability to build rapport with both clients & candidates over the phone, at coffee meetings and over an informal client lunch

Institutional Banking – Bank Guarantees & Trade Officer

Due to the growth in our client’s portfolio, an exciting opportunity has come about for a Bank Guarantees Officer to join this leading global corporate bank on a permanent basis.

Experience within Bank Guarantees and/or corporate loans operations is required to be considered for this role.

The Guarantee Officer will play a vital role in managing Guarantees/SBLCs issuances, and making sure Guarantees/SBLCs are issued in accordance with Group policies, UCP Rules, Checklists and SOPs.

Responsibilities:

• Undertake responsibility for reviewing, drafting, and execution of Demand Guarantees, Ensure potential risks relating to guarantee wordings are either accepted by Legal/Business, or mitigated by revision, making sure all ambiguities and contradictions are addressed.
• Review Standby Letter of Credit applications and amendments to determine workability, accurately interpret and execute instructions while complying with bank’s policy.
• Minimise Operational incident by performing stringent control checks on non-standard or unusual issuance requests. Ensure guarantees are issued in accordance with Group policies, UCP Rules, Checklists and SOPs.
• Ensure guarantee commissions are booked accurately and collected within agreed time lines.
• Acknowledge and respond to enquiries from external clients and internal stakeholders promptly while demonstrating higher standards of client service.
• Identify Operational processing improvement opportunities; generate ideas and solutions that can be productive during day-to-day work handlings.

 Required Experience:

• 5 + years’ relevant experience in similar Institutional Banking Operations role – Trade Finance, Bank Guarantee’s, Supply Chain Finance etc
• Proven track records working in an Operational area handling Bank guarantees

Technical Experience required:
• Demonstrated knowledge of Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees (URDG758) & ISP98, and how a guarantee should be structured.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Australian and global banking regulatory and compliance environments
• Experience of controls to manage Operational Risks

This is an exceptional opportunity for an Accounts Assistant or Assistant Accountant to join a vibrant CBD-based recruitment business, on an ongoing contract 3-5 days per week. This is a great position for an applicant at university seeking to build solid AP/AR/business management experience while completing a B.Accounting or M.Accounting.

Anton Murray Consulting is a boutique financial services recruitment firm based in Sydney CBD. We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our team on a flexible part time basis. We are a dynamic team who work collaboratively and encourage an entrepreneurial spirit. A candidate who takes initiative and actively seeks to learn and grow in the role is essential. This is a flexible on-the desk position, and you days & work hours worked can be flexible to work in with your university schedule.

This role will report directly to the CFO and work closely with him, and in support of the Sydney recruitment team. The scope of the role will be determined by the successful candidate. There is capacity for this to be an involved accounting position for an experienced applicant, but can also be adapted to a more junior candidate looking to develop. Tertiary education in an accounting or business field is ideal, or working toward completing a degree.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounts payable: manage invoices as they come in to the team, paying them in a timely manner and accurately recording these transactions in Xero
  • Accounts receivable: creating and issuing invoices for permanent placements and regular payroll contractors. Engaging with clients to chase overdue invoices and manage accounts
  • Bank reconciliations: Managing the business credit cards – ensuring transactions are recorded in Xero and reconciling each month
  • Expense reporting: Collecting, verifying and submitting expense claims for the team
  • Payroll: managing fortnightly payroll for the Anton Murray Consulting team and our book of contractors – this includes collecting and verifying timesheets from contractors and managers, chasing hours and liaising with clients
  • P&L and revenue reporting: Tracking contractor hours and permanent revenue, providing regular reporting to the CFO and Director
  • Other accounting reporting: On an ad hoc basis you may assist the CFO with other accounts reporting, such as the BAS and FBT

A successful candidate:

  • Ideally some prior experience in an accounts or assistant accounting role
  • Tertiary education in Accounting or Commerce or Business, and/or working towards ACA or CPA will be looked upon highly
  • Experience using Xero would be highly regarded
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Well-presented, well-spoken and articulate as you will have some client interaction in support of the team
  • Strong communication skills, particularly over email
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite – particularly Excel

Treasury Middle Office Analyst – 6-month contract

This is an exceptional 6-month contract position working as part of the Cash Management and Treasury Middle Office team, as part of the custody middle office for a global financial services client in Melbourne. The ideal profile for this position would be an applicant with several years of treasury middle office or operations experience.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The successful candidate will be part of a small Cash Management operational team responsible for the oversight of off-shore teams for the Melbourne office as well as providing support for internal teams such as Treasury and Client Services for Australian payment and liquidity management processes. The role will be flexible and may be varied dependent on requirements within the team.

The individual will build and maintain relationships with the business, operations, technology and strategic change teams globally.

The role is in the Australia market and therefore an appreciation of the Australian payments and banking landscape is a desired skill.

The role will be flexible and varied, depending on the composition of the team.

DUTIES:

  • Work closely with the Treasury Front Office and Credit to mitigate risk and ensure smooth transactional settlement across all APAC currencies.
  • Proactively identify any potential liquidity issues, liaising with internal and external parties to mitigate any settlement risk.
  • Calculate currency investments to be traded by Melbourne Treasury.
  • Re-balance nostros through accurate Funding transfers, avoiding any unnecessary closing balances attracting both charges and potential regulatory breaches. To include Eurozone and Euroclear markets.
  • Retrospectively analyse Funding and Investment decisions, putting in place any remedial action(s) to aid in future decision making.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue.
  • Assist in the preparation of daily and monthly reporting to be used by Partners and Regulators
  • Keep Procedures up to date, ensuring that any changes are captured accordingly and communicated to management.
  • Provide team functional support.
  • Keep abreast of developments within the banking environment, to include but not exhaustive; Liquidity constraints, Throughput, Regulatory changes.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • Demonstrated understanding of Global Custody and/or related Securities Industry Cash processing.
  • Full understanding of Cash liquidity.

Share Plan – Operations Associate

Working with a leading global firm, this is a great career opportunity in share plan and registry operations.

Operations is one of the largest divisions in the firm and has diverse responsibilities and plays an integral role in supporting one of the businesses largest cores functions; trading, settlement and reconciliations.

You will be employed in the position of Settlements Associate, or such other position as may be required from time to time. As Settlements Associate, you will be responsible for, but are not limited to the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Completion of daily processes related to money movement, FX transactions and international share movements
  • Coordinating with transfer agents, broker partners and other involved parties
  • Investigating problem/rejected transactions, as they relate to cash and share disbursements
  • Investigating and following up on unsettled trades with all involved parties
    Trading processes, including buying and selling shares via third party broker partners
  • Following established rules that support compliance and audit processes and escalating issues to manager
  • Assist in developing training guides and documentation of changing operational processes
  • Testing, logging issues and following up on resolved issues to ensure they have been completed correctly

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Commerce, Accounting, or similar area of focus
  • 1+ years’ experience in a varied Settlement, Reconciliation, corporate actions or Middle Office role is an advantage.
  • Someone with some experience in employee share plans would be ideal
  • Some corporate actions experience
  • Someone with experience in retail banking – credits/debits, dealing with client money etc.
  • Attitude is really key – we need someone who is keen, excited by the opportunity and really looking for an operations role
  • The candidates will need to be flexible between trade allocations, settlements and reconciliations so an agile / flexible approach is key – again, a great learning opportunity for someone to get exposure to more than one area within the team
