Treasury Settlements – 12-month contract

Our client is a leading global bank seeking an experienced Global Markets and Treasury Settlements officer.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years’ experience in Treasury Operations (Fixed Income, Money Market, FX settlements), as well as have experience with EXIGO, RITS and SWIFT.


To ensure that all Global Markets transactions and Treasury transactions are settled in a timely manner whilst ensuring that bank procedures and controls are adhered to. Working in close liaison with the Dealing Room, back office, Middle Office and the rest of the local Operations department and our clients to ensure a smooth workflow and provide utmost client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities:

  • To ensure that the following instruments are monitored and settled in a timely manner
  • FX & Money Market trades ( Corporate clients & locally booked)
  • Interbank customers. This may include shift work – early morning start times, approx. 6am.
  • Securities (Bonds and Repurchase Agreements)
  • Treasury transactions (NCD, call accounts)
    • To manage the local confirmation process and their verification
    • To manage and work closely with the ALM Treasury FO to ensure that bank’s liquidity flows are managed efficiently
    • To prepare the reconciliation of Nostro accounts and suspense accounts
    • To manage the AUD ESA account with the RBA efficiently according to the defined priority tree & ensure daily intraday calibration is met throughout the day
    • To work with offshore Nostro monitoring teams, ensure all breaks are reviewed and actions taken as required in a timely manner
    • To compile statistics of the area for regulatory and other reporting
    • To provide a high level of customer service with clients’ requests/ queries being attended to diligently
    • To co-ordinate work flows with offshore and local static data teams to ensure high level of correctness
    • To assist with internal FX bookings for other teams within Operations

Qualifications/ Experience:

  • Three to five years’ experience in Fixed Income and Treasury settlements
  • Experience in EXIGO/RITS settlements
  • Experience in SWIFT
  • Oral & Written Communication – ability to express clearly in conversations and interactions with others, as well as the ability to express clearly in business writing

Job Summary:
The Product Controller is responsible for generating and reporting the daily profit and loss statements, for traders. In addition this position provides opportunities to be involved in project based tasks and improving front and back office systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Profit and Loss reporting for Asian markets.
  • Reconciling positions prior to market open
  • Knowledge of managing restricted currencies and capital across brokers.
  • Good understanding of Prime Broker Margin & Collateral policies/models.
  • Ability to reconcile and analyse currency positions.
  • Analysing Accruals including Capital & Interest charges, expenses and commissions.
  • Reconciliation of front office estimates to prime broker reporting
  • Various Ad Hoc projects including back office system and risk system development


  • 4+ years’ Profit and Loss reporting experience within financial markets
  • Financial market product experience specifically equity derivatives are a necessity
  • Experience in translation of foreign profit and loss into base currency
  • Relevant University Degree in financial markets or accounting. Part CPA or ACA would also be highly regarded

Project Coordinator / Junior Business Analyst – Equity Markets Fintech

Our client is a leading financial technology firm that works in support of AFSL’s stockbrokers, advisers and other wealth firms.

The Project Coordinator will work with their clients as well as internal client services and development teams, to identify and document functional requirements, enhancements, process and workflow improvements to their technology modules and operations.

They will help analyse scope and drill down to prepare detailed requirements, through interaction with designated project team members.

Ideal candidates will have some project coordination or BA skills experience, and ideally some knowledge and experience from within the Australian wholesale and retail financial markets sector.


  • Analysis to identify and specify the required enhancements to the modules, preparation of requirements statements, functional specification (desirable but not mandatory)
  • Workflow Design – Analysis, design and documentation across the full range of business operational processes to meet customer needs
  • Facilitation  – host workshops (with internal and/or external stakeholders) to build-out, capture and validate requirements
  • Operational Procedures – Documentation of targeted end-to-end business operational processes
  • Project Coordination – close liaison and coordination with the broader team and third parties to identify priority, define and meet project objectives

Corporate Loan Operations – 6-month contract

Our client is a prominent, global investment banking firm and this is a 6-month FTC position available in their Institutional Corporate Loans business based in their Sydney CBD office. The ideal applicant will have direct Insto Corporate Loans operations experience, with corporate loan processing experience in an agency capacity.

Position Purpose:

To ensure all loan transactions are processed in accordance with market practice, agreements and internal requirements. To also back-up for the processing of trade finance and guarantee transactions

Key Challenges:

  • Processing of all loan transactions in accordance with market practice, agreements, and internal requirements.
  • Processing of all transactions in the role as Agent bank in accordance with market practice, agreements, and internal requirements.
  • Communicate and manage staff to ensure all transactions are accurately completed within set requirements.
  • To provide training to team members for loan transactions when required
  • To initiate, develop, implement, and evaluate strategies, processes and practices that will support the growth of the business.

Competencies/ Skills & Experience:

This salary range is $100-130k salary, depending on experience, paid directly by our client on a Fixed Term Contract [FTC] basis, so you can also access leave as part of this FTC. The position is available initially on a 6-month duration, although the position may get extended or go perm depending on movement in the team later in the year.

Project Lead – Equity Operations / CHESS replacement

A leading investment bank is looking for a senior equity markets operations candidate with strong projects experience to lead a few large scale projects including the CHESS replacement for Distributed Ledger Technology.

This is a unique role in that the focus of the position is likely to be project management and project coordination for the Equity Operations function.

The role’s main aspects include but are not limited to the leading, oversight and completion of Projects for the Equity Operations division.

This is a high-quality AVP/VP level project position to work on an important CHESS replacement project for the Operations and Middle Office teams. Ideally you will have a strong equity markets ops and MO background with decent project experience.

This is a relatively urgent position, and available on a rolling 12-month contract duration (likely 18-24 month duration), with the possible scope to convert to perm.

An exciting opportunity to be the Project Lead for the Australian Branch driving the CHESS + renovation throughout the completion of the project

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Ongoing preparation of testing strategy and approach
• Execution & evidencing of testing and coordination of Sign off
• Produce user manuals and reference materials as required
• Produce training materials and participate in the delivery of training as required
• Provide input to production support of the deployed process / system as required

We are looking for high calibre people who possess the following competencies:
