Franklin Templeton has appointed a former Hermes Investment Management executive as head of consultant relations for Asia Pacific.

Stephanie Hukins, who will be based in Sydney, will take up the role as director of consultant relations Asia Pacific.

Ms Hukins will focus on managing and building “strategic relationships” with investment consultants across the Asia Pacific region, a statement issued by the firm said.

Franklin Templeton’s consultant and investment research group director, Matt Philpott, said he was pleased Ms Hukins had joined the firm.

“Stephanie has a strong track record in relationship management within the institutional investment industry and her appointment supports our focus on broadening our institutional client base in the region,” Mr Philpott said.

Franklin Templeton managing director Maria Wilton said Ms Hukins’ appointment ensures the firm is able to address “growth opportunities” across the region.

“Our quality strategies across global and local investment teams in fixed income, equities, real estate and multi-asset solutions have been very well received by the institutional market,” Ms Wilton said.

“Stephanie’s appointment ensures we continue to have a strong team in place to meet the demands of our clients and to address the growth opportunities we are seeing.”
