UBS hires Zenith, BlackRock senior execs

UBS Global Asset Management has expanded its team in Australia with the appointment of a fixed income investment specialist from Zenith and a national sales manager from BlackRock.

Jonathan Baird will join UBS’s Sydney fixed income team as investment specialist, a newly-created role where he will assist the distribution team and support the existing book of business.

Baird joins from Zenith Investment Partners, where he has been a senior investment analyst for the past four years.

David Redford-Bell had been the director of retail and institutional relationships at BlackRock’s iShares for over nine years.

Redford-Bell will be based in Queensland and as national sales manager of the wholesale sales team will implement UBS’s managed funds initiative in Australia.

He will work closely with financial advisers and other intermediaries, research personnel and administration service providers.

“Jonathan and David have many years of tenure in the industry, most recently at Zenith and BlackRock respectively, which will further strengthen our existing capabilities and extensive experience in the fixed income and sales space,” UBS head of global asset management in Australia and New Zealand Bryce Doherty said.
