


This is an excellent opportunity to join a Tier 1 global trading firm in their Sydney office. As an ETF Middle Office Analyst, you will be responsible for helping the day to day running of the back office for their Trading team. This will entail position reconciliations, ensuring trades are captured in an efficient and timely manner and positions are accurate and reconciled to external brokers, produce accurate daily Profit and Loss for the trading team, and ensure a strong control framework throughout the complete trade life cycle, whilst support the growth of the organisation.
Ideal background will have 3+ years Profit and Loss (PnL) reporting experience, ideally coupled with knowledge of ETF trade lifecycle, handling trade flow through to settlement. Knowledge of SQL, VBA and Python would be highly regarded.
Responsibilities:
• Reconciliation of position, cash, and trade activity prior to Market open.
• Reconciliation of front office estimates to various broker reporting.
• Analysing various accrual including interest, internal capital charge, borrow expenses, brokerage fees & rebates etc.
• Managing fund transfers across brokers including cross boarder transfers for restricted currency
• Understanding and cross-checking Prime Broker Margin & OTC Collateral policies/models.
• Manage life cycle of ETF creations and redemptions.
• Act as liaison between operation, traders, and all internal departments, as well as brokers.
• Support the business in its growth and expansion into new products and markets.
Ideal experience:
• Ideally 4+ years’ Profit and Loss reporting experience within financial markets.
• Have an in-depth knowledge of ETF life cycle, handling trade flow through to settlement.
• Knowledge of equity swap & futures necessary.
• Experience in translation of foreign profit and loss into base currency.
• Maintaining strong organisational skills and meticulous record-keeping as well as fostering efficiency and accuracy to complete tasks and follow process.
• Detail oriented. Ability to prioritise based on materiality and risk considerations.
• Must be a self-starter, a quick learner, and have analytical mindset when tackling issues.
• Ability to build strong and positive relationships both internally and with Broker contacts.
• Reliable and flexible team player with a positive demeanour.
• Mandarin written and spoken proficiency will be advantageous.
• Knowledge of SQL, VBA and Python would be highly regarded.
