A surge in large-scale initial public offerings (IPOs) across artificial intelligence and other high-growth industries could reshape equity markets by broadening investor choice and challenging the dominance of today’s largest listed companies, according to Franklin Templeton. The investment manager said companies spanning AI, space, defence technology, fintech, automation, robotics and data infrastructure are preparing to list, creating what it described as the next phase of the AI investment cycle. While these listings could diversify US equity markets, they are also expected to compete for investor capital with existing growth stocks.

Stephen Dover, chief market strategist and head of Franklin Templeton Institute, said the influx of mega-cap listings could place pressure on established market leaders despite strong overall investor demand. “If several mega-cap IPOs come to market in the same window, they will compete for capital not only with each other, but with existing publicly traded growth stocks. “That could create rotation pressure across software, semiconductors, fintech and AI beneficiaries. This is a dynamic situation that investors should monitor closely, even as overall demand remains robust.
