Tim Helyar has been promoted from Australia country head to Asia Pacific head, effective from 9 September. Helyar will relocate from Sydney to Hong Kong, to support State Street’s regional growth strategy. From there, he’ll partner with the different country, functional and business leaders across Asia Pacific. Another stated goal is to “strengthen governance, deepen client and regulator engagement and accelerate regional growth”.

He succeeds Lochiel Crafter, who recently retired, and reports to Stefan Gmuer, head of international. “Tim is a proven leader with deep investment services expertise and a strong track record of delivering for clients,” said Gmuer.  “His regional knowledge and collaborative leadership will help advance our growth strategy across Asia Pacific, while supporting regional clients as they seek to unlock growth, gain efficiencies and seize new opportunities.”
